OVERVIEW
A new name for 2006, but not a new team. Midland F1 are the re-named Jordan
team. The Russian owned company bought out Eddie Jordan's Irish outfit at
the beginning of 2005 and immediately gained control.
They operate out of the same Silverstone base, but hold a Russian racing license-the
first F1 team to do so.
The team had formed a relationship with Dallara who were due to build the
2006 chassis, but a fallout with the Italian firm left Midland having to
design and build their own car for 2006.
The highlight of 2005 was Tiago Monteiro's third place at the controversial
USA Grand Prix after the 14 Michelin shod cars pulled out of the race due to
safety fears. Still the reliable Portuguese finished an impressive 8th at
Spa in the rain to raise his profile somewhat.
Second driver for 2005, Narain Karthikeyan has made way for Dutchman
Christijan Albers, while Toyota will supply brand new engines.
Back of the grid strugglers in 2005, Midland will be hoping for better
things this season.

TEAM HIGHLIGHTS: Powerful
engine, proud recipients of Russian racing license.
TEAM LOWLIGHTS: Alex Schnaider seemed reluctant to dip into his own pocket
in 2005, when the team needed it.
