Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone 2008,Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire, 20-21 September 2008.

Paragon Motorsport Porsche wins the Brtcar 24 hours with Mark Sumpter, Adrian Slater and Andy Purdie at the wheel, despite losing nearly 30 laps overnight with a driveshaft problem.

On the 20th September, I made my first forray into the world of night-time photography after visiting the Britcar 24 Hours at Silverstone. What a superb event this is-it may not have the stars or the cars of the legendary Le Mans 24 hours, but it makes up for it with a great atmosphere and great access around the circuit-perfect for photography! There is something special about seeing racing begin during the day, go through dusk until dark-especially when it's taking place on a circuit you're used to seeing in broad daylight.

My thoughts go out to the family of Andy Neate however, who was seriously injured in a major startline crash on the opening lap. I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

The Moslers really should have done better

The Aston Martins had a great race

The Mosler is probably the best looking car in the race and certainly one of the fastest!

My favourite shot of the weekend

The BRDC clubhouse has become a landmark of the Silverstone circuit-and looks great at night!

You know it's night when the moon shines bright!

Club corner is a great place to watch during the day-it's spectacular at night!

The Bridge looks a lot different at night!
